The art brief and proposal is the recycling of a tree using digital technology, transforming it into bespoke individual artworks for use within our new building and the wider local area. The tree will be cut into disks and inscribed with the soundwave patterns of a local birdsong, drawing attention to the wildlife in the local park and environment.
Working with the local community, we would select display locations throughout the neighbourhood. We also propose to promote and sponsor the birdsong artwork via creative workshops for local primary and nursery school children.
Digital artist Andrew Richardson has developed technology, utilising soundwaves of bird-songs, to laser etch them into wooden “roundels”.
The roundels will be adapted to create a unique feature wall.
